Employment Structures

There is a choice of Full-time, Part-time, Pool or Casual nursing positions available.

Full-time/Part-time/Pool

Flexibility

  • Permanent or Temporary contract with shift penalties (wherever applicable shifts worked)
  • Access to accrued days off
  • Family Hours - 8am-1pm and Twilight Shifts - 6 -12pm, 5 - 10pm (where available)
  • Flexible shift start/finish times and lengths to fit in with busy schedules and family commitments (depending on ward areas)
  • Job sharing opportunities available

Remuneration

  • Paid induction and supernumerary time on ward / department
  • Paid annual leave and public holiday pay (up to 9 weeks paid days off if working full-time shift work, accruing ADO's)
  • Fortnightly pay
  • Paid sick leave
  • Minimum of 2 paid study days per year (for full-time nurses, pro-rata for part-time nurses)
  • Access to salary sacrificing / salary packaging. Salary sacrificing reduces your taxable income and allows you to pay for mortgage, rent, HECS, childcare, health insurance, car, laptops and so forth from your pay before tax
  • Accrued long service leave (3 months paid leave after 10 years service)

Other

  • Support for new graduates, post graduates or those returning to nursing in all areas
  • Access to scholarships and special purpose nurses fund
  • Ability to be involved in the Foundation for Nursing Research
  • Subsidised vacation care for pre-primary to 14 year old children
  • Excellent Nurse : Patient ratios

 

Casual

  • 20% loading + shift penalties
  • Choice of shifts (where shifts available)
  • Access to excellent educational opportunities
  • Prerequisite: minimum 12-24months post graduate, recent, acute experience
