Royal Perth Hospital is a leading teaching hospital and major trauma centre in Western Australia. It is also well recognised for its delivery of high quality, informative and interesting courses in adult nursing.
Staff Development Educators (SDE) at RPH are strongly involved with a wide variety of nurse education and training.
SDEs plan, develop and deliver Graduate, Postgraduate and continuing education programs and assist with the planning and development of specialist study days. SDEs and their Staff Development Nurses provide encouragement, mentorship and support for ward or unit based staff.
Continuing Education for nurses at RPH is divided into two main portfolio areas: Continuing Education, which includes all clinical related study programs, and the portfolio of Professional Development. This exciting new portfolio is responsible for raising the profile of essential practice development areas such as leadership training and team building as well as developing non-clinical nursing education resources.
With over 50 clinical based or professional development study days / courses each year, RPH nurses can meet their professional needs in their clinical or speciality interest area.
