
Royal Perth Hospital in conjunction with the Department of Health, Public Health Systems, conducts refresher programs for Registered Nurses. The aim is to assist nurses who are currently registered with the Nurses Board of Western Australia to return to the acute adult health care setting.
The program is designed to increase essential knowledge, skills and confidence with a focus on current technology and excellence in clinical practice. This four-week program is generic in content and is integrated to provide some theory and some clinical practice each week. Clinical practice can be undertaken at either campus of Royal Perth Hospital or at another participating hospital.

The Renewal of Registration Program is conducted by Royal Perth Hospital in conjunction with the Department of Health, Public Health Systems. Successful completion of the program will enable currently unregistered Enrolled Nurses to renew their registration with the Nurses Board of Western Australia.
This six week program combines theory with clinical practice. Theoretical and clinical assessments are continual throughout the course and are competency based incorporating the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council Competency Standards for the Enrolled Nurse and Essential Intervention Skills.
Clinical practice can be undertaken at either campus of Royal Perth Hospital or at another participating hospital.
