
Royal Perth Hospital in conjunction with the Department of Health, Workforce Development, conduct refresher programs for both Registered and Enrolled Nurses who have not practiced for up to five years and who wish to return to the clinical setting. This program is designed to increase essential knowledge, skills and confidence with current technology with a focus on excellence in the clinical area. The four week program is generic in content and is integrated to provide both theory and clinical practice.

Distance Learning requires the successful completion of learning modules followed by a four week clinical placement in an acute clinical setting. The Internal Program consists of four weeks full time theory followed by a four week clinical placement in an acute clinical setting. Successful completion of the program leads to Registration with the Nurses and Midwives Board of WA.

Presently the program runs concurrently with the Renewal of Registration Program. This program can be done by either Distance Learning or by attending the Internal Program. Distance Learning requires the successful completion of learning modules followed by a four week clinical placement in an acute clinical setting. The Internal Program consists of four weeks full time theory followed by a four week clinical placement in an acute clinical setting. Successful completion of the program leads to Registration with the Nurses and Midwives Board of WA.
