The Education Centre, via the Centre of Clinical Nursing Research (CCNR) provides assistance for nursing staff in the development, undertaking and reporting of clinical nursing research.
This extends to assistance with the development and writing of abstracts, research proposals and audits and providing assistance with the production of databases and questionnaires, as well as audiovisual presentations and posters for national and international conferences. Research proposal and intellectual property guidelines have been compiled to aid staff interested in investigating an aspect of nursing practice or patient care.
The Centre also monitors nursing research in progress and supports the Nursing Research Review Committee. This committee reviews new proposals to undertake research by nurses at Royal Perth Hospital, and where appropriate, as a nominated subcommittee of the Institutional Ethics Committee, approve the conduct of some nursing research studies.
