Student Placement Opportunities

Undergraduate placements at RPH are negotiated in liaison with tertiary Schools of Nursing (SON), to provide experience in speciality and general adult clinical areas. First priority is given to the SON in the Perth metropolitan area. Consideration is also given to interstate requests for students' from SON with a formal agreement with RPH.

Successful placement of interstate students is easier to negotiate in the semester breaks (June-July and January - February).

Currently RPH is not able to accommodate the placement of international nursing students as we have a large number of local Registered Nurse and Enrolled Nurse students already being placed. The only time this can occur is if there is a specific agreement with a School of Nursing.

Work Experience

RPH Nursing Offers an In-Step Program.

The programme is for year 10 to year 12 students. Students have the opportunity to experience and observe what it takes to be a nurse.

Students are required to obtain information from the school careers adviser and can gain a placement for a semester.

Students are encouraged to ring Rita Hari on 0412062192 for further details.

RPH is not able to provide work experience for non-high school students.
