Undergraduate placements are primarily offered to educational institutions (universities/TAFE/colleges) located in the Perth metropolitan area through requests received from them on a yearly basis.
Requests need to be submitted to the Staff Development Educator in August-September of the preceding year. All offers of student placement are confirmed in December of the preceding year too.
RPH has established an Undergraduate Partnership Program (PUP) for nursing students, with some educational institutions. Nursing students that are selected to be PUP students are offered all their adult nursing experience at RPH except for mental health. For more information on the PUP program at RPH, please see PUP Brochure
For more information see our PUP brochure [
PDF].
Currently RPH is not able to accommodate the placement of international and interstate nursing students because we have a large number of local Registered Nurse and Enrolled Nurse students that require placements here. The only time this can occur is if RPH has a service agreement with a particular School of Nursing based outside Western Australia.

RPH offers high school students On-site and In-Step Program. These vocational workplace programs are for year 10, 11 and 12 students. In either of these programs, students have the opportunity to experience and observe what it takes to be a nurse.
Students are required to obtain information from the school careers adviser to gain placement on a continuous or block basis. Placements are divided between the Perth City Campus and the specialist rehabilitation wards at our Shenton Park Campus.
