Imaging

As a nurse in the Imaging Department you will develop the knowledge and clinical skills to assist in the care and preparation of clients undergoing procedures in the Imaging Services Department.

You will acquire relevant skills regarding investigations for specific surgical and medical conditions. You will be able to identify the various contrast agents used in imaging procedures and demonstrate skills in the care of patients undergoing general and local anaesthesia as well as Neurolept sedation.

Other skills include general technical knowledge in the use of catheters and guide wires for interventional radiological procedures and various imaging techniques employed in the department.

You will be part of a friendly, helpful team with a good orientation and preceptor program.

The Imaging Services Division of RPH is world recognised and the experience gained in this department will be hard to duplicate anywhere else. We have a large area of speciality and expertise in this advancing department.

Imaging work on a Monday to Friday roster with no night duty. Once you have the required skills and knowledge you may be asked to carry the oncall pager after hours.
