
The medical oncology ward is a 30 bed unit which provides care to medical oncology, haematology and radiation oncology patients. A patient counsellor provides support to patients and their significant others.
Skills that can be aquired while working on ward 10A include phlebotomy, intravenous cannulation, cytotoxic administration, dealing with all manner of venous access devices (central venous lines, implanted ports, peripherally inserted central catheters & tunneled central lines) and infusional devices (subcutaneous syringe drivers, ambulatory pumps like CADD range of infusion pumps).
